My journey with yoga began in 2001. When I began to practice, I noticed that my experiences on the mat were a reflection of what was going on in my life, and I became more aware that how I chose to see the world was impacting everything in my life. As I continued to practice, I noticed that my mind was more often in the same place as my feet. Since then, yoga has become an integral part of my life. When I practice, I connect with the light within myself. When I teach, I am always moved seeing others working with determination to persist in challenging moments, whether that means breathing through a difficult posture, or listening to their body when they need rest. My journey is to live as my authentic self. One of my dear teachers said that when we accept who we are, we give others space to be who they truly are. “If you haven’t seen me around the studio lately I am probably writing report cards. When I’m not at the studio, I can be found teaching my grade 3/4 class”.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us most”. –Nelson Mandela

I love to see the renewed brightness in people’s eyes after class. The light in me sees the light in you.
